Welcome To the
New OTC Journal |
|
This past week we launched an entirely
new OTC Journal site, and I believe it will prove a far more valuable
resource for microcap investors than the previous version.
Please take some time to visit the
new site and explore. By now, you should know it is located at www.otcjournal.com.
You will find it pleasantly user friendly. Information is far more accesible.I
have modeled it after Yahoo! Finance, which I believe is the easiest
stock related site to navigate and research information.
Working from left to right, here
are some of the new features I believe you will find valuable:
-
The Left column:
It starts with current price quotes of the major indexes. Moving down,
you will find a list of the price targets and SSLs (suggested
stop losses) for all the followed companies. Last, is a list of the followed
companies. Just click on any name, and it will take you to a section for
that company with far more comprehensive information than before. Moving
down, there is a calendar for looking up past publications, followed by
a series of links for one click RSS Feeds. You can use these RSS feeds
if you want to imbed the OTC Journal content in your home page.
For example, if you use a self designed Yahoo! home page, you can create
a link to the most current OTC Journal edition and/or BLOG
which will come up on your home page when you launch your browser.
-
The Middle Column: The
very first section of the middle column is reserved for breaking events
and timely information. I am planning on making this an important feature.
Below you will find several new features. Links to information on our most
current new ideas appear just below. One section lower you will find new
features to the site: The "Heating Up" column where we cover Wall
Street's coming focus, the "Technology Trends" column, where we
look at mega changes in technology, and the "Market Wise" section,
where we cover some tried and true strategies for making money in the markets.
Below these new sections are links to the major news events effecting the
market that day.
-
The Right Hand Column:
The right hand column is very important on a daily basis. At the top you
will find links to the most current BLOG Entries. Just below are
links to the most current Full Editions. At the bottom you will
find another new column: The Traders Corner where we share strategies
for better trading practices and swing trading ideas in larger cap stocks
we have identified.
I believe you will find the information
on the new site much more comprehensive and accessible. For example, in
the past if you wanted to find out the current price target and SSL for
one of our followed companies, you had to dig into the archive section.
Now the information is on a simple table on the left side of the home page.
I felt it was important for investors to get that information easily and
quickly to aid any buying and/or selling decisions.
I hope you like this new version
of the OTC Journal. We plan to continue the improvements. Feedback
and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Please email editor@otcjournal.com. |

There were lots of earnings releases
last week from the companies in our little microcap world. Quarterly numbers
are very meaningful to potential price performance for several of the companies,
not so important to others. For example, Bad Toys came in with revenues
about as expected north of $11 million for the quarter. Earnings were a
bit weaker than hoped for, but they have been spending a lot on legal fees
thanks to the S1 for the Southland spin off, and fighting their
creditors. Since it was already priced into the stock, it wasn't too meaningful.
MAIL
came in with strong earnings and the stock responded with an impressive
2 day run, only to pull back. For biotechs KAL and ACTC,
earnings are not too meaningful. Clinical trials and published results
are all that matter.
I am really looking forward to getting
some hard numbers from Titan Global- this one could be a rocket
ship once hard numbers prove they are delivering. Lots going on there to
suggest numbers will improve. Their fiscal year is quite bizarre- it was
the end of August. Therefore, we will see audited numbers by the end of
this month, and fiscal Q1 numbers (which should be impressive) by mid January.
For Commerce Planet (CPNE)- clearly the most followed and traded
OTC
Journal idea, numbers are all that matter. Once investors are convinced
the trend that has been established over the past 3 quarters will continue,
there is no predicting how high the stock could go. My immediate target
still remains $2.
A couple more earnings reports bear
reviewing, but I will not get to them until after Thanksgiving week. I
am publishing today's edition, one post close on Monday, and that will
be it until after Thanksgiving week unless something major comes up.
The BLOG is your opportunity
to ask questions and offer comments. I will make an effort to answer every
legitimate question. If I don't know the answer, I will contact the management
and get the answer. Alternatively, if you have questions you don't want
publicly displayed, you can always email me directly at editor@otcjournal.com.
To use the BLOG, simply go
to the home page at www.otcjournal.com
- the BLOG will scroll down automatically on the right side of your
screen. The most current journal entries appear in the middle of your screen.
Check back frequently for updates particularly when stocks are moving to
overbought or oversold levels in volatile markets.
