Apple BLOG Live

I don’t really have any comments on AAPL today. I just wanted to get a BLOG up so investors could ask questions or provide comments. If you would care to comment on your iPhone or Mac, that would be appreciated. Feedback on iTV would be welcome as well.

  1. Ouch! my options are getting nuked…

    Volume last 2 days wasn’t much though…

    Any new thoughts?

Editor: As of this AM, it turned out to be a buying opportunity. These big swings are exacerbated due to the low volume time of the year. I think between now and the end of October the stock will make a new high. There are already some reports of growing Mac sales, which will drive the stock this year. Next year- iTV. I don’t know what options you own, but I have the January 130s. Needed some time on this idea.

  2. I’m a Windows developer running WinXP on a Macbook. Their Bootcamp software makes the Macbook a great Windows laptop – plus I get to use the Mac side for fun and games (GarageBand, iMovie, etc.). The move to Intel procs is going to pay off big time for them.

I believe they are successfully creating and exploiting a convergence point – laptops, computers, phones, mp3 players, tv, dvd players, internet sales and delivery of media content – and putting their hardware, software and OS in the middle of it. Great plan! But the execution of the plan – from hardware and software design, to the buzz generation and retail experience, not to mention market timing and generating profits – is jaw-dropping. Imagine when the next 3 versions of iPhone come out, or when the TV thing comes to fruition. I think this is really just the beginning.

What is their value if they end up dominating the PC market + consumer electronics market? Any thoughts?

Editor: $200 is my target price for the mid term- perhaps 6 months to 1 year. From there, we can re evaluate. Do you run a MAC with the Leopard Operating System? I’d like to get some feedback on that, as if it integrates smoothly with Vista, I see MAC sales being driven by iPhone users- the proverbial tail wagging the dog. Next year the iTV will start to grow, which seems to be a great product. I don’t know why people doubt they will have the best entrant into movie downloads and how you watch them when they clearly did it to music. They will own the digital entertainment revolution, and now we are moving toward cross platforming the holy grail for US households- the TV in the Den. Much bigger market than digital music. Thanks for your comments. Would love to hear how Leopard runs.

  3. Apple release the new nano, ipod classic and the itouch. Why did it take a fall today? Do you think it has to do with anything with the price drop of the iphone? I just don’t get why the stock isn’t picking up speed like it did yesterday.

Editor: They will be dropping the price of iPhones- the market didn’t like it.
