A Volume Bonanza

Oh- how I long for 1999. That was penny stock heaven. Back then, when we saw volume, we really saw volume, and big price breakouts.

Lately I've been nailing it on the volume surges- getting you in ahead of the many other investors. I've just been a little optimistic on my price targets. I've been expecting 75% to 100% surges, and been rewarded with 30% to 40% gains.

For traders, a gain of 40% over a few days to a few weeks is heaven sent. So, in my view, there's nothing wrong with sharing ideas that can yield those kinds of results. I'm simply going to ratchet down my expectations on price, and try to suggest levels that are more in line with recent history.

Whether it's 30% gains or 75% gains, it's nice to know that penny stocks are coming back, and I'm talking to lots of players in this arena who have been very quiet for two years. I'm talking to merchant banking types who have provided me with huge winners in the past. I'm believe we might be at the front end of a real bull in this arena that could go on for a couple of years- with, of course the normal ups and downs within the bull.

Take A Look: Recent Features

Here's three recent ideas I've featured. Look at them one by one.

The first is Envision Solar (EVSI). The first circle on the chart is when I first wrote about the company. Note the following price and volume surge within a week. I nailed the entry timing perfectly on this one ahead of the volume, but the price did not break out to the highs I was expecting. Nevertheless- anyone who picked up the stock when I published my first coverage had an easy 45% on this idea if you sold it anywhere near the top.

Second idea: Juhl Wind (JUHL). First covered in mid march. This is not a monster volume trader, but the volume did increase considerably after my introduction, and more importantly the price spiked very dramatically. There was an easy 40% in this one as well over a week or two.

Let's wrap this edition up with recent idea #3: Bering Exploration (BERX). At the first edition the entry level was about $1.20- Note the monster price and volume move over the ensuing 10 days. This was a 50% gainer, but I was expecting a move to over $2, so I was a little optimistic on this one.

In my coverage of BERX I predicted this stock would have 3 major volume surges and runs this year. #1 is in the books. This stock is looking a little tired now, so I'm pretty sure it will now quiet down and wait for drilling results. I picked up 75,000 shares of this one in the open market, and currently still hold about 2/3 of the position. I bought and sold this stock a number of times in the last week. I'll likely hold on to a good portion of those shares for the next big run.

No matter how you slice the pie, I've dished up three nice wins since March 1, and I expect the trend to continue... and soon.

Tomorrow- Check Your Inbox

Tomorrow I'm going to deliver my first new idea for April. If you liked the 45% move in BERX- my "Thrill of the Drill" idea, you will love tomorrow's idea.

In case you haven't noticed, oil is hanging in there over $110 per barrel, and in my neighborhood a gallon of gas is over $4. In this kind of energy environment, junior oil and gas stocks and alternative energy stocks tend to get all the attention.

Tomorrow's idea was $1.20 on huge volume in mid February, and is about $.50 right now, not far off it's all time low. This is another "Thrill of the Drill" idea, and this company is already generating revenues off existing wells- this one's a little further along.

More importantly- I'll get you out in front of a big volume surge- only this time, I'll set the expectations up in the 40% to 50% range for gains, and we'll get out at the right level.

I like these Sunday releases because it gives everyone a chance to read the editions before the market opens in the morning. Also, ideas that come early in the week tend to do well the first few days, then drift down as we move towards Friday.

I believe there's a nice profit to be made in tomorrow's idea.  Check your inbox mid day.
