To OTC Journal Members:

This was a slow news week for the companies we follow.  With the absence of news to cover we decided to devote this weekend's edition to upcoming events and special situations we have been working on for the benefit of our members.  We do have a couple of important video clips for you to view on Blue Zone (OTC BB: BLZN).  We'll tell you how to view them later in this edition.

Since we have been publishing uninterrupted for over two years now our membership has grown to nearly 300,000.  This large audience has allowed us to negotiate some especially favorable benefits for our members, and more opportunities are coming our way every day.  After we cover our view on market conditions we will bring you some exciting upcoming events we have planned.

Market Comment

It was tough week across the board for nearly all equities.  It seems that interest rate hikes from the FED are finally creating a perception that earnings momentum will slow, and stocks fell accordingly.

Many large cap groups have been in a Bear Market for quite some time now.  If you owned any of the large pharmaceuticals, financials, health care, or retail stocks, your portfolio has been performing poorly.

Small and micro cap stocks seemed to also finally correct this past week after a great four month run.  We saw values erode for no particular reason.  This was inevitable.  Nothing ever goes up in a straight line.

We view this correction as healthy.  As stocks continue trending higher entry levels become riskier.  A correction will create buying opportunities for investors with capital to put to work.

We heard a lot of rhetoric in the media this week about the New Economy Companies versus Old Economy Companies.  New Economy companies could be defined as those which are taking advantage of our new digital business environment.  Business to Business software and IT solution companies continue to be in favor.  Investors seem to have lost interest in the Old Guard stocks.  Time and time again the market has proven its uncanny ability to predict where growth will occur.  We expect a lot of technology stocks to continue to trade well even in a bear market.

Bio Tech stocks have been a shining star in a bleak sky.  Long awaited breakthroughs in understanding how the body works are yielding some uncanny moves in Bio Tech stocks.  We are currently reviewing some candidates in the bio tech arena for potential profiles.

Blue Zone (OTC BB: BLZN) Video Clips

Recently Jamie Ollivier, the president of Blue Zone was interviewed on Bloomberg TV.  Bruce Warren, the CEO was interviewed on CNN FN.  Both video clips are available on their web site for viewing.

Go to their home page at www.bluezone.net.  Enter the HTML version for faster access, and then click on CNN on the left hand menu bar.  A web page will open giving you access to the video clip.  You can learn a lot about the company from these video clips.  Click Here to be taken directly to their home page.

Upcoming Events

We are going to continue on our mission to find the best of the best investment related services for our members.  Here are some of the areas that we know investors are interested in:

  • Major Media Investment Information
  • Preferred Brokerage Firm Relationships
  • Short Term or "Swing Trading" ideas in stocks
  • IPOs
  • Private Placements
  • Venture Capital Funds
  • Broad Band Internet Access
  • Small and Micro Cap Investment Ideas
We are working on preferred relationships in all these areas.  Here is a review of each area:

Major Wall Street Media

Two weeks ago we brought you 4 weeks of the Wall Street Journal, delivered to your door, for free.  By simply signing up for the subscription and having the Wall Street Journal bill you directly, you were allowed to receive the first four weeks for free, and then cancel if you decided you didn't want it.

This week we will be bringing you a free subscription to Forbes Magazine.  These benefits are not commonly available on the Internet or anywhere else.

Preferred Brokerage Firm Relationships

We have been approached by numerous on-line brokerage firms to solicit our members' business.  We have settled on one firm that we believe offers the best on-line direct execution system available today.  This is particularly powerful for very active traders that look for instant executions.  Our members that choose to establish an account at this firm will receive preferred fee status.  We will be bringing you details next month.

Short Term Trading Ideas

We have established a relationship with one of the best Swing Trading analysts around.  Their daily newsletter and commentary are unequaled in our opinion, and once again our members will enjoy preferred rates.  This information will also be coming next month.

IPOs

New China Homes LTD, which we brought you last month, is going over very well.  We understand that nearly 100 accounts have been opened so far for this new issue, and many more of you have indicated an interest in participating.

If you applied on-line to participate, but did not hear back from the brokerage firm, fill out and send in the on-line new account application.  Act quickly, because we hear that the stock will begin trading in the first 10 days of March.

We have lined up two more IPOs for you to participate in, and the first will be next month.  If you did not read our edition on this IPO, just go to the IPO Alert button on the left hand menu bar of our home page.

Private Placements

We had a great response to our issue on the private placement of Ixpres.com, and we know many of you chose to participate.  We will have more opportunities just like this coming your way.  If you signed up for more information and have not heard back from the company you might want to call in directly or e-mail rstinner@ixpres.com.  We had nearly 3,000 responses to this opportunity, and there is one individual trying to deal with everyone.

Venture Capital Funds

We are looking into the possibility of introducing our members to the opportunity to participate in a Venture Capital fund.  We are exploring the legal issues and the quality of the fund management right now, and regulations permitting we may bring this to you in the future.

Broad Band Internet Access

If you are still accessing the Internet through a dial up modem, you are operating with ancient technology in Internet time.

There are two kinds of broad band access for your home: The Cable Modem which comes in over your TV Cable, or DSL which comes in over your phone line.

If you are currently using a dial up modem to connect to the Internet please get yourself a high speed connection if possible.  It will cost more money, but after one week you will agree that it is well worth it.

We expect that broad band pricing will be more favorable to the consumer with DSL.  You only have one choice of provider with a cable modem.  With DSL numerous providers can compete for your business.

Many homes cannot get either technology yet, but over the coming months and years that will change.

We will be introducing preferred DSL rates for our members sometime next month.  We are negotiating with two ISPs for favorable rates, and we will let you know when it is available.

Small and Micro Cap Ideas

We will continue to bring you our monthly profiles.  Since the beginning of 1999 we have had a few stocks that have traded poorly, but on the whole we have done very well for our members.

The flagship of our profiled companies continues to be NetSol International  (NASDAQ: NTWK).  We brought you this company in $3.75 on January 15th, 1999 when it was Mirage Holdings.  On Friday the stock closed at $46 for a 1047% increase.  Blue Zone (OTC BB: BLZN) has been another stand out, up 120% since our November 12th release.

For next weekend's edition we are going to compute your net return as if you had invested $10,000 in every one of our profiles since the beginning of 1999.

Have a great week.  We will be back next week with any breaking news and the offer for a free trial subscription to Forbes Magazine.
