ACTC: Biggest
Percentage One Day Gain Ever in OTC Journal |
|
| That move happened in conjunction with the
publication of the NY Times article which you can read (by referring back
to the link above). In light of the kinds of research going on at ACTC,
this is the kind of event that could easily happen in the future. OTC
Journal, May 27, 2006 Introductory Edition on Advanced Cellular |
Wow- what an explosion. Any one out
there following this stock? Took off like the Space Shuttle leaving Cape
Kennedy. More follow through in the early going today. Yesterday was unbelievable-
it might be the biggest one day percentage gain I have ever witnessed over
eight years of publishing the OTC Journal. The stock appreciated
357.5%
in one day. Absolutely breathtaking.
In case you haven't seen the news,
here's the scoop. Nature Magazine published a very in depth article
on the strides ACTC has made with its Stem Cell technology.
The article was entitled "Human
Embryonic Stem Cells Lines Derived From Single Blastomeres". If
you are interested in this company and their technology, you should read
the article. I have read it twice, and still don't understand a lot of
it. However, even the layman can understand the significance of the science.
Of course, I have a PDF version of the article for your convenience. Simply
Click
Here, and you the article will blow open on your computer.
Here's where I self promote a little.
Bear with me. OTC Journal followers know I am a big believer in
the future of Stem Cell technology. I also believe Stem Cell stocks will
trade very well in the future. Between the energy obsession of the past
18 months, the market blow off in June and July, and the low volume summer
months, the stem cell sector has been all but forgotten.
I try to uncover microcap situations
that you wouldn't hear about on your own, give you the facts, share my
views as to what might happen, and let you decide if you like the idea.
In the case of Advanced Cell, my first publication was March
27, 2006. By clicking on the date you can go back and read the original
presentation.
The article, which appears in the
current edition of Nature Magazine, contains no new information
that you didn't have in my original presentation. It talks at length about
ACTC's
ability
to derive a fetal stem cell line from a Blastomere without harming the
potential for life. The article simply chronicles the scientific process.
There was no major breakthrough you didn't already know about.
ACTC
simply
received validation from the scientific community, and it translated into
a massive move in the stock.
Furthermore, if you read the quote
at the top of the article, you should recognize I called for the possibility
of high profile media coverage on this company. After, they've been in
the Wall Street Journal twice already.
Hence, the value of the OTC Journal.
We found this one long before it was on anyone's radar screen and chronicled
the possibilities for the technology.
Take a look at this chart. You won't
find anything like this chart in any other microcap publication. It gives
you more detailed information than anyone else will provide.
Here's what strikes me about the
chart. Note the stock surges to $3 last October when the Wall Street
Journal publishes on the company. Nice move, big spike.
Then there's yesterday's massive
spike on the chart associated with the Nature article. As it relates
to the starting price, the spike is considerably longer. However, the most
striking feature is the enormous amount of volume level at the bottom
of the chart. It simply dwarfs any other day's volume in the stock's trading
history.
You want to know where I think the
stock is going from here? Hard to say. There might be a couple more days
of spiky surges. The recognition from the article is just beginning. The
company is holding a conference call on Friday at 12:00 Pacific to discuss
the developments. You can dial in at (800) 230-1074, when prompted tell
the operator you would like to connect to the 'Advanced Cell Technology
conference call.'
OTC Journal followers know
I am a believer in accumulating microcap stocks when they are quiet and
no one wants them. If you believe in the company, you simply wait for the
epiphanal events to be a seller or an observer. Not a buyer.
If you own ACTC and hung in
there during the multi month decline, congratulations. Sometimes the old
fashioned buy and hold mentality works best. If you don't own it and you
want to, I would not jumping into a full position at these levels. Don't
forget about their toxic financing. It promises to create excess supplies
every month for the foreseeable future. Go 1/3 now, and look to add the
other 2/3s during quieter times.
One thing may change about this stock
permanently- the amazing amount of volume may put this company on a lot
more radar screens over the coming months and years. It might hold up much
better as more investors learn about it and want to own a piece.
I'll probably post a BLOG
on Monday morning with a review of the trading activity. It will give you
a current opportunity to ask any questions or share any comments.
This is one that needs to go in the
"own and forget about it" end of your portfolio. You can still accumulate
it right. The company has many years of scientific achievement ahead of
it.
