Back on a Hot Streak

For the last five months it had seemed Santa would not be making his usual year end appearance for stock market investors. Oh- what a difference a week makes.

Two weeks ago Europe was imploding and a European Lehman Brothers was just around the corner. China was going into a deep recession, and the economic world was coming to an end. We had the worst Thanksgiving market week since 1930.

The next week- wow. There was a unified effort by Federal Reserves around the world to provide liquidity for European banks so they wouldn't have to sell government debt, the Chinese starting a loosening regime by lowering the bank reserve ratio, and the S&P 500 skyrocketed.

Italy's Parliment approved extreme austerity measures, and unlike Greece there were no strikes and no rioting in the streets. Italian bond yields are dropping.

It's getting a little more painful to be short.

In the meantime, after a couple of quiet months, my last two trading ideas put us back on a hot streak. VRAL - suggested at $.02, made $.045 withing two trading days for a 125% move.

BERX, which had been one of the thorns in the Bear's paw, even made a decent showing. From $.12 I forecast it might see $.19 in the short term. It wasn't to be. However, it did make $.175 by mid morning, and that was a 46% gain.

Since we're on a roll, I'm going to provide an update on one of your more impressive movers of late tomorrow. I'm not sure what time yet. If you missed this one the first time around, you'll have your second swing at this at bat.
