Amnis Systems (OTC BB: AMNM)- New Management Delivers New Products

Amnis Systems (OTC BB: AMNM) was back in the news today with a new product introduction nearing completion, and their timing could not be better. I'm still looking for this one to be a $.15 stock over the next 30 to 60 days, which is a double off today's closing price.

Amnis has what may be the best video streaming technology on the market today. Their video stream is delivered over any broadband network in "real time", which allows Amnis systems to be used for many exotic applications.

Amnis systems power virtual classrooms for the University of Hawaii, University of Alaska, Hughes, Pfizer, Daimler Chrysler, and many others.

An Amnis system was used by Bell Canada to provide a video network to perform surgery remotely. A doctor performed the surgery miles away from the operating room using robotics and a real time Amnis video system to do his work.

Attack drones are remotely flown using Amnis video technology where a real-time video image in mission critical, as with remote robotics surgery. Traffic is monitored from a remote location by the police department in the City of Suzhou, China.

There are over 4,000 Amnis systems installed world wide. The company has an incredibly loyal customer base despite having nearly closed its doors two months ago.

New Product Introduction Announced Today Just After the Close

In early April it looked as if Amnis was headed to insolvency. The stock dropped to $.01. Times have changed.

Fund managers took a look at the company, and decided the problem was management, not technology. In early May financiers stepped up to the plate with new capital of $1 million and brought in a new CEO.

Since that time, the stock has rebounded to a high of $.125. The company has announced new product sales. Overhead has been slashed dramatically. Today the company announced nearing a new product introduction for the first time in several years. They expect sales for this new product to begin next quarter.

If new product introductions are followed with more new product sales, investors will take a leap of faith that the worst is behind, and this exciting technology will have the opportunity to grow and mature.

The stock has retraced almost exactly 50% of its run from $.06 to $.125. As long at the uptrend remains intact, this represents an ideal entry level. If you don't have this one in the high risk end of your portfolio, now would be a great time establish a position and wait for product sales announcements to take the stock higher. If and when we get to $.15 we can reevaluate, and decide if we should be looking for $.25.

Amnis Systems Announces Beta Availability of Edge Server for Video Network Applications

Tuesday June 17, 4:03 pm ET

Amnis Systems Completes Development of New Product and Focuses on Real Life Testing

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Amnis Systems Inc. (OTCBB: AMNM - News), a leading global provider of networked streaming video systems, announced beta test availability of the Edge Server. Beta testing is the final phase of the process which ensures that only high quality products are introduced for general availability to the market.
The edge server was developed in response to specific customer requests for a high quality video server platform. The product will support simultaneous real time video encoding, recording, streaming, management and video-on-demand functions. Edge servers can be distributed throughout an enterprise network and are interoperable with Amnis' NAC(TM) series of network attached streaming video appliances, desktop playback and network management software. The edge server will expand Amnis' customer base and enable existing customers to enhance their distance learning, conferencing and video surveillance applications with new features.

The edge servers will consist of a family of pre-integrated storage appliances, which combine standards-based hardware and Amnis server software. The edge server architecture has been optimized to support network applications with geographically dispersed locations of video encoding, storage, streaming and video playback. Such applications require a plug and play server that can simultaneously encode and record multiple live video events while streaming multiple video files to other geographic locations. In addition, these applications require an integrated management and scheduling capability for real time monitoring, control and event response for all network attached video appliances. The Amnis edge server platform also allows multiple edge servers to be deployed and coordinated with all other servers and video appliances within the same integrated management interface.

Unlike video servers targeted at centralized consumer video-on-demand applications, edge server functions can be deployed anywhere within the enterprise LAN to allow application optimization. Each edge server can be configured to provide one or more functions at each location to minimize cost, offload network congestion and optimize geographical capabilities as summarized in the following examples:

  • Multiple channel DVR (Digital Video Recorder)
  • Automatic video content distribution and time shift
  • Centralized management of video network attached devices
  • Live video multicast over WAN
  • Real time event and context metadata capture
  • Real time video stream analysis, processing and intelligent digital camera control
The company is in discussion with several potential beta sites. Beta sites will chosen based on their proposed usage of the Edge Server and commitment to stress the product in a real life network. The beta testing stage is expected to last 30 days. The company expects to begin quantity shipments of the Edge Server in calendar Q3 2003.
